YOGA TREAT EVENING
Embody your Yoga

Level 1,2 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm daily

This 5 class series taught by three different teachers will build actions in pose work from the base up. (feet, legs, spine and chest) The series will culminate in a timed practise based on the poses we work throughout the week.

A great way to come back to your yoga with a beginner's mind and then challenge yourself in action with a timed practise!

Saturday Morning Workshop

Lauren is a senior Iyengar teacher who has come to Nanaimo for over 10 years. Her vigorous and motivating style guide participants to new awareness. Those who practise shoulderstand and wish to evolve their experience of yoga  are welcome.

After a short break following the morning workshop, Jessica Lowry and NIcole Arendt will be teaching under the observation of Lauren Cox. If you are able to volunteer your time as a student there will be a sign up sheet on the studio door. Jessica Lowry is coordinating the student volunteers for this afternoon session.

 

 

 

 

 

Yoga Class Descriptions 

ALL LEVELS

Includes poses from all Levels (1,2,3). Beginners are welcome. Students are guided to work safely and appropriately at their current level.

Gentle
Modified ALL LEVELS

A slower paced class for those working with chronic conditions or injuries. This class may be suitable for those not used to physical exercise.

Back, Neck & Shoulders
Modified ALL LEVELS

A class focused on back, neck and shoulder issues.

LEVEL 1

Foundational poses are systematically and safely taught to build mobility, strength and flexibility. Suitable for beginners and students wishing to focus on basic postures and principles of Iyengar Yoga.

Energize with
Lunch Time Yoga

These 50 minute classes are designed to get you moving over your lunch break. Arrive at Noon and be out by 1 pm. Suitable for Beginners.

Aging Gracefully 1
Modified LEVEL 1

A Level  1 class for those 60+

LEVEL 1,2

Suitable for students who have Iyengar Yoga experience wishing to expand the number of poses learned and further develop inverted postures.

FLOW
Level 1,2

Participants will be taught each pose based on the Iyengar method including the principles of alignment so that a portion of every class can involve flowing from pose to pose.

Aging Gracefully 2
Modified Level1,2

 A Level 1,2 class for those 60+

Gentle Transition
Modified LEVEL 1,2

 A Level 1,2 transitional class for students of any age that are ready for more standing work with less support.

LEVEL 2,3

Students will develop a deeper understanding of postures and strengthen the practice of inverted poses and backbends. Elements of the intermediate poses will be explored.

LEVEL 3

For ongoing students working with all categories of poses on a regular basis who have a personal practice.
Pranayama LEVEL 1

A Restorative class for Iyengar Yoga students who are ready to begin a Pranayama (the study of yogic breath) practice.

Pranayama LEVEL 2 For students who have at least 1 year of pranayama practice in the Iyengar Tradition.  
Peace Practice
ALL LEVELS Restorative

Invite deep relaxation and mental peace into your week in this one hour practice.  Peace Practice is by donation.

Restorative Yoga is designed to release tension and stress through gentle supported postures and conscious breathing. Suitable for all levels.

 Chair Yoga

 For those with restricted mobility.
