To provide a community service by offering yoga classes to anyone regardless of age, ability, gender. gender orientation, race or income.

To offer respect, encouragement and support to every student.

To maintain integrity in the yoga poses as well as in business practices.

To be students first so that our knowledge of yoga continues to develop.

Jana has been a student of Iyengar yoga for fifteen years and is a Level I teacher. She continues to be fascinated that doing asanas mindfully helps us to become aware of the body's own intelligence.

 

Ken has been teaching for 4 years in the studio and has been a student of Kelly's for 14 years. He received his Iyengar Level 2 Certification March, 2012. He is looking for interested students who want to strengthen their practice or just learn more about yoga.

Ken teaches a Level I class on Thursday at 5:00 pm and Level I Going To Level II sessions on Sunday from 12:00 to 1:15.

 

Linda has been studying and practising Iyengar yoga since 2002. She is presently in the 3rd year of the teacher training program and was assessed at the Level I in October 2010.

Linda has taken many workshops and continues training with senior teachers from around the world.She offers yoga instruction as a way to encourage self-confidence and calmness of mind.

Tracy began her Iyengar Yoga journey in 2007 and completed
her first year of Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training in May 2012.

Tracy teaches a Tuesday Level I class from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, and has taught an 8 Week Introduction to Yoga at Lifestyle Health and Fitness Centre.

 

The study and practice of yoga has improved Missi's life on many levels. It is fun and interesting. Join her to explore! You are never too old or too stiff to begin.

Missi is a Level I Iyengar yoga teacher with a background in skating and teaching. She is the mother of 5 children and 7 wonderful grandchildren.

Missi teaches the 55+ all levels class on Monday from 11:00 am to noon, the Cancer Recovery class Wednesday 9:00 to 10:30 am with Dori, and all Levels from noon to 1 pm on Thursdays.

 

Kelly has been studying and teaching in the Iyengar tradition for more than 20 years - 13 of them in Nanaimo. She finds inspiration in social justice, community building and from her students.

Kelly is certified at the Intermediate Level which allows for teacher-mentoring and assistance with physical problems.

Where we are located
 

Classes are located in Kelly's studio at 135 Machleary St. in Nanaimo, BC.There is plenty of free parking on Machleary St. and the studio can be accessed from the street or from the rear alleyway. Please park on the Park-side of Machleary to respect our neighbour's parking needs.
