Kelly Murphy, your guide

Kelly grew up in the Comox Valley. She left Canada in 1969 for Africa, which was her first important teacher. Working with First Nations in Saskatchewan in youth theatre for ten years created an awareness of the value of aesthetics, a personal voice and social justice. Buddhist teachings were part of Kelly's early yoga training, before Iyengar yoga became the central influence. Kelly came home in 1992 and lives very happily in a little cottage in the Old City Quarter.

Kelly Murphy is a student as a well as a teacher in the Iyengar Yoga tradition. She belongs to the Victoria Iyengar Yoga Association as well as to the Canadian Iyengar Yoga Association and has been practising since 1990. She maintains daily practice and attends monthly yoga workshops as well as weekly classes and is certified at the Introductory Level II by the Canadian Iyengar Yoga Association.
